We have some decorative plumb trees growing in our yard. They aren’t supposed to produce fruit but they do. Nasty little purple cherry-sized plumbs that are almost almost all skin and pit and fast like the stuff you use to take grease off your car engine.
We also have roses of every color that, when kept properly trimmed are covered in big flowers that are actually quite spectacular to behold.
What I never imagined was that the two of them would get together.
This rose shot feelers into the tree and decided to bloom way up there, eight feet off the ground, surrounded by purple leaves and black branches.
