Nature is beautiful. Unfortunately nature doesn’t get too concerned with its own photogenics (is that a real word?). Basically, what is beautiful to experience and to see might be really bland in a photograph. Take for example an overgrown forest. Predominantly the color of which will be green. Or, as is more common in the desert where I live, everything is the same tan brown.

It is beautiful, and it is possible to take gorgeous photographs of these natural colors — especially if using black and white which brings out the textures — but there is another way to do it. Just add a splash of color… or several.
