San Xavier Mission

San Xavier Mission

It fascinates me how intricate the architecture of old buildings can be. Especially when I consider the symmetry had to be done by hand. There were no computers to draw it for them. No lasers to cut the bricks just so. This was all done by hand.

It’s also fascinating how these churches seem so spiritual and bright on the outside, seeming to embody lightness in the way they almost shine. Then on the inside they are dark and cramped and filled with symbolism of death and paintings of gruesome tortures. It’s like the dark, creepy cave inside the beautiful mountain.

But even that is beautiful.
